Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2
1. Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) 2. Package: grub-pc. According to Synaptic, the installed and latest versions are the same, namely 1.97~beta4.1ubuntu4.1. 3, 4. Installing updates after a fresh install from CD (dual boot with Windows 7), I got error messages telling me that the grub update could not be installed because the local copy had been modified. I'm not aware of modifying it, unless it somehow happened as I set up the dual boot. Restarting the computer, I noticed the "report an error" alert, reported, and was brought here.
