Public bug reported: Binary package hint: partman-base
The installer fails when it tries to "mount" the swap partition, which is not being formatted properly. It doesn't hang, and offers to try again, but always fails in the same way. If you switch to a console, and mkswap the partition, the installer will continue successfully. Reproducable with the alternate installer (amd64) when using encrypted LVM. It doesn't happen with non-encrypted LVM (or non-LVM), and I haven't yet tested the i386 installer. This didn't happen with Alpha 2, so i suspect it started with the rebuild against parted 2.1. I saw that partman-base got rebuilt again (against parted2.2) yesterday, and I will see if I can still reproduce it with the new version. ** Affects: partman-base (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: glucid ** Tags added: glucid -- partman fails to format swap partition inside encrypted lvm group https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/535202 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
