Binary package hint: light-themes
It seems that the ambiance theme does not play well with some
applications using a tray icon, as evident in the attached screenshot.
However this also happens with other themes, so that could be a problem
with the notification area itself. Nevertheless the default theme in
Ubuntu should try not have this problem. Maybe something can be done in
the theming.
