Ethernet is a new Yukon card (model Optima), supported by 2.6.33 onward (could be easy backported), driver sky2. Xorg work with latest intel driver and 2.6.33, but goes blank screen with 2.6.32 and older (you may use vesa or fb driver in the meanwhile), I haven't yet identified the fixing commit to backport. Sound is still being worked on, I did get some headphone output with latest alsa-driver git and model="generic". It will probably take some time to set out; it's being tracked at https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=4934.
I'm also tracking the overall status of this laptop at http://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Sony/VPCEB1J1E For bug-triager: this has nothing to do with firmware issue, please reassign to appropriate kernel package for Lucid. ** Bug watch added: ALSA Bug Tracker #4934 https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=4934 -- i need drivers for my notebook sony vaio vpceb1j1e/wi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
