Note that as upstream Gnumeric developers we do not consider this a Gnumeric bug, but a klipper issue. Klipper steals and mangles the selection. We paste what klipper returns to us.
There really is no justifiable reason to run a program such as klipper or glipper that tries to circumvent the clipboard handling. The original reporter wrote "as spreadsheets have done for decades."
