To restore the system the following is required (karmic 9.10): - press ESC in GRUB loader countdown - boot in RESCUE MODE - choose to repair dpkg - answer all questions - wait till everything gets done - log into console mode using username & pasword - issue 'reboot' in command prompt
the system should now boot normally. In my case, additionally the new kernel was unable to boot correctly so I selected previous kernel version and set the new default value in /boot/grub/menu.lst (in my case default=2) good luck! -- Shutdown or restart should be disabled during system update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/487797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
