After spending all day trying to get sound to work with my maudio audiophile 2496 soundcard. I have sound after I added some modifications for my card in etc\pulse\default.pa. as directed in a related bug thread. But now I can't get pulse audio server to work anymore (the volume meters for output would move at least before and it started in preferences-sound). Also, movie player (and possibly other apps. dependant on pulse audio) has no sound. Firefox, rhythmbox, audacity, and vlc all have sound though but they seem to run on ALSA. I did install gnome ALSA mixer and ALSA mixer GUI, so now I am wondering if that started a new bug?
