Regarding the above comment - the reason you can't save files back to a remote folder after opening them with Dolphin is bug #427283 . Not that solving that bug will be a good solution: OpenOffice.org on Kubuntu should be a full fledged KIO citizen - the same as OpenOffice.org on GNOME Ubuntu work with GVFS to open and store files on remote folders.
