Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter

After rebooting from installation, the b43 module was installed, however
the hardware drivers did not prompt to use the proprietary driver for
this. I had to manually install the b43-fwcutter to get the fw file
installed for this device, and then restart the network interface wlan0
to activate the b43 module with the fw file created by b43-fwcutter
utility.

I tried running the hardware drivers utility, and it did not offer any
restricted drivers.

It is a compaq presario laptop v200 with the bcm4318 chipset.

Once I corrected the issues above manually, the Wireless network
interface worked fine.
