Chad,
Thank you for submitting this bug report and helping to make Ubuntu one better. 
There is a newer client available that has many bugfixes. Could you please run 
System >  Administration > Update Manager and run any updates that are waiting. 
After running the updates restart  Ubuntu One. You can quit the client by 
selecting 'Quit' in the applet, and you can quit the syncdaemon by running in a 
Terminal (Applications > Accesories > Terminal):
u1sdtool -q
Then you can start Ubuntu One as normal (Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One). 
Copy some test files into your Ubuntu One directory and see if they sync.
