*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 460144 ***

I am having the same (if not, similar) problem. I have installed Ubuntu
9.10 on a Sony UX-380n Micro PC. The wireless card couldn't even be used
in previous versions (at least I don't recall it working at all).
However, now I realized I could access Google, which shows it can
actually connect.

I am connecting to an old router, but with no problems, as all the
operating systems I run on my desktop (which I am using now) can access
the router perfectly and quickly. As well, Windows 7 already had drivers
for the wireless built into its self and accessed the router without any
such issues out of the norm.

I believe the bug this was linked to, since this one fits my description
so much more, was indeed a fallacy on the account of its linking.

What happens is that (and I look right now) it pronounces "Wired network
Disconnected" constantly without any stop. It occasionally pronounces
"Connected to *network name*". Although I can use the computer, it is
extremely annoying to have pop-up bubbles come up every...all the time?
I hope someone can fix this. In older versions I could not even get it
to ask for so much as a WEP key, which it now asks for and uses. Just
the same notification problem.

I do not in any way thing the bug/issue linked to this matches and that
my problem is unique only pertaining to this issue. They sound almost
exactly alike and I would hope someone can fix it.

If I notice that the network is actually connecting and disconnecting or
anything related to my problem, I will check back and post it here. This
is one of the first annoying computer bugs I think I have come across,
since I never recall coming onto a site like this to actually get help.
The only other issue is another Linux distro that was badly built
crashed constantly...as opposed to Ubuntu which has never crashed and is
comparable (with no marks on either side) exactly to Windows 7 (and
Vista if your talking about crashing...maybe not common bugs).

Please help, and please unlock/unlink this bug so we can get it working.
I searched and couldn't find anything pertaining to my bug.
