Just to review the procedure for flashing the BIOS: 1) get 1005P-ASUS-0706.ZIP from http://support.asus.com/download 2) extract 1005P-ASUS-0706.ROM to a USB stick, being sure to RENAME IT 1005P.ROM 3) power-on the EEPC1005PE while holding down ALT and tapping F2 repeatedly.
The update then occurs automatically.
