which other config files are you talking about ? If it's the config files of
the dock or the applets or the launchers, they don't contain paths, but most
of the time a mere name (for images for instance).
that's why they won't be affected even if you change your home. But Stack
has to know the complete path of the files, since they can be located
anywhere on the disks.
So it can't cope with a change of the paths.
