According to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports this may not be possible.
But there was a fixed version 1.4.3.2-5 available in Debian, which only (okay, mainly) addresses this issue. It seems, nobody cared to get it into Ubuntu. If you like, you can give it a try. For your convenience, I attached the relevant diffs between bibus 1.4.3.2-3 and 1.4.3.2-5. Unfortunately, I cannot assist you in this, as I am not familiar with the Ubuntu procedures. Good luck.
