This seems to be the default behavior for the current Lucid server install. I.e., after I install Lucid AMD64 and every time the machine reboots, it comes up to a flashing "-" prompt on vt7. I must then use <Alt>-<F1> to get to a login prompt. Not a big deal, but could be confusing to new users of Ubuntu server.
In the old days this would have been an /etc/inittab configuration issue. Now I'll have to snoop around to find out how init is deciding to load processes (if indeed init still even exists on Lucid). -- if GDM disabled system still boot to Virtual Console 7 (a flashing cursor) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517842 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
