This seems to be the default behavior for the current Lucid server
install. I.e., after I install Lucid AMD64 and every time the machine
reboots, it comes up to a flashing "-" prompt on vt7. I must then use
<Alt>-<F1> to get to a login prompt. Not a big deal, but could be
confusing to new users of Ubuntu server.

In the old days this would have been an /etc/inittab configuration
issue. Now I'll have to snoop around to find out how init is deciding
to load processes (if indeed init still even exists on Lucid).
