Yes, the addition of swsuspend is fine, though I'm puzzled that this is needed now when it was never needed before.
Took another look at this in my initramfs, and it seems wait-for-root *does* handle UUID= values (dunno what went wrong the last time I checked), but /bin/resume does not.
