The same here with Lenovo R61 on i965. Nothing helps. The only message is "*ERROR* invalid framebuffer id". Upgrading kernel to this http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v2.6.33-rc8/ - doesn't help either =(
