Sebastien, UI design like that is very user-unfriendly. I haven't found this much-needed feature either. You assume the user knows as much about the app as the developer, a classic mistake.
Plus, it requires much more precise mousework, which drains the brain. Just accept a folder from nautilus anywhere in the rhythmbox interface, and by default just drop it into the library, and auto-play it.
