We are wondering if this is still an issue for you. can you please try
to install the latest version of empathy from the ppa
https://launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa and see if that solves the
problem for you if that does not solve the problem then we will send
this bug report to the original developers of the app. Thanks in
