I'm one of the two main developers of Brain Workshop. The avbin dependency of BW is optional; without avbin, BW can only play .wav files (which includes all of the critical sounds) and not other formats like Vorbis in .ogg (for music). The music should probably either be stripped out or at least moved into a separate package and put in Multiverse, since there may be some copyright issues with the music.
Also, many users of Ubuntu (at least of version 9.10) have reported audio issues with BW, which seem to stem from Ubuntu's implementation of pulseaudio. I have not seen any or many complaints of similar problems on other distributions. These bugs should probably be investigated and hopefully fixed before Brain Workshop is added to the official repositories. That said, I'd be happy to make a package for Ubuntu. I'll have to change a few things in the source code to make resource file and user data access more portable, but I'll try to do that and build a package soonish. -- [needs-packaging] Brain Workshop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/303715 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
