Hi Colin, I had installed the latest linux- image-2.6.33-999-generic_2.6.33-999.201002121003 and matching kernel headers from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily. Unfortunately, it did not change anything and the laptop is still unable to resume properly from suspend.
Anyway, I will keep an eye on the mainline kernels to see if there is any progress to get the problem solved.
