I just upgraded to Ubuntu Karmic. The bug still exists. Any formatting added to the document after its initial creation is not saved. Words can be added, but formatting, such as page breaks, etc. vanish upon closing the document even after saving it. Currently I'm dealing with the after affects of the upgrade, which apparently was a rough one all around. Haven't tried creating a doc as a different user. Thanks for the tips!
