It looks like I've got a reproducible test case. 1. open a new Konqueror window, and change the search shortcut 2. close the window 3. open a new Konqueror window from the K menu or Alt-F2 -- the search shortcut is as I customized it 4. close this (and all other) Konqueror windows 5. click on a hyperlink in a message in KMail 6. a new window opens with the search shortcut back to Ctrl-S
