Thanks for the quick response. First of all, let me say that I really like this program. At work, pretty much all I do is connect to different remote computers through remote desktop. This program lets me keep the connection configured and connect quickly to the one I need.
On the experimental version, I haven't had much chance to play with it yet, but from what I see I like. I like the profile idea because it allows for one visual configuration for all or some of the connections. I typically want all of connections to have the same Window size, etc. I might want one profile for the local connections on the LAN and one for the remote across the Internet, and your design allows for that. The great part is that if I want to change my preference, I don't have to change all of the connections, I just change the one profile. The main reason that I was playing with the code was that I wanted to enable compression with the -z switch. I found that feature already in the experimental version. I would also like to have some of the other features like the -r disk: feature to be able to copy files across RDP, and the seamless RDP would be nice too. One thing that I would like is a Description on the connection. I have to connect to some of my computers by IP address, but I would like to show a user-friendly description to remember which IP address is which. I did have a little trouble with import from the old database settings. Some of it is just because the SSH and VNC are not implemented yet, but I thought I might look at the code there to see if I can offer any patches that might help. I also had a few problems with the version of MonoDevelop. I have version 2.0 that came from the Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic repositories. That version wouldn't open the code -- I had to install version 2.2 manually. I plan to blog my screenshots to show how I did it. I will let you know when I do. Overall, I really like the experimental version, but I need to play with it some more. I just discovered it, and I am excited about it. As I play with it more, I will let you know what I think. Please let me know if there are parts that you would like help with. I don't have a lot of time, but I am enjoying contributing. -- Option to configure location of saved settings https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521281 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
