It seems that amulegui has changed the protocol used to communicate with the server, breaking the compatibility with old versions.
You could install this package: amule-utils-gui_2.1.3-6_i386.deb, wich implements the old version of the EC protocol. The problem is that it refuses to install in Ubuntu 9.10 because a dependency with libcrypto++7.
