For what it's worth, I had this problem when trying to create a standalone install of monodevelop. I am running Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic), and monodevelop works fine installed from packages.
I was following these instructions: http://www.mono-project.com/Parallel_Mono_Environments I was downloading the files from here: http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/sources-stable/ I installed the following in this order: - libgdiplus-2.6 - mono-2.6.1 - gtk-sharp-2.12.9 - mono-tools-2.6.1 - monodevelop-2.2 I received the error at this point when trying to compile monodevelop. I was able to fix the problem by compiling and installing mono- addins-0.4. Then, I went back to monodevelop and reran "make". The compile worked fine, and I was able to continue to install. Based on that, I would guess that maybe there was something wrong with the dependencies with mono-addins or maybe an old installation of mono- addins was conflicting. Hope that helps. -- Gutsy: monodevelop packade crashes on startup: Application not found: IDE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132997 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
