Thanks for taking the time to filing a bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
Just to be certain, DpkgTerminalLog.gz indicates that dpkg was trying to
retrieve the "official" package from the Karmic release from the CDROM.
Did you have it inserted? If it was the case, is it a burned CD and if
so, have you checked it for errors after burning?
