FYI Its not a problem for me in Lucid Alpha 2! Meantime you can create an xorg.conf file as such:
Section "Device" Identifier "Radeon 7200" Driver "ati" Option "AccelMethod" "EXA" EndSection The Identifier and Driver lines may not be necessary, naturally use your display adapter model as the identifier and copy file to /etc/X11.
