I confirm that /boot/grub/grub.cfg is ok, but in the boot menu is missing the last character: you have to add it manually every times. There is no need to reinstalled Ubuntu: just add that character when you turn on, or force Grub version in the original repository (but with the original bug). Is possible to revert to the previous working version of Grub that was in the PPA of Felix?
