Can be reproduced with intel wireless hardware as well.   Key is not
"forgotten" it's just that every time there's a network fault of ANY
kind, the key is re-requested.   It's a big nuisance.   Key should only
be re-requested if failure can be confirmed as specifically the key as
opposed to timeouts, network disconnects or any other hardware issue.
Also applies to WPA networks.
