I don't have access to my laptop right at this moment, but I can
describe my network setup and I do remember the contents of those files.

I am running bind on my OpenBSD server that also does DNS for my
internal network (with a ".int" TLD). When I installed Ubuntu it asked
for a machine name, so I gave my laptop the name "debussy". When I went
to install apache as described above, it could not resolve "debussy" so
I changed the files as shown below which allowed the second attempt at
installation to succeed:

/etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 debussy.int debussy

/etc/hostname

debussy.int
