Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce your bug on my
machine. It sounds like there may be an issue with the server that
Synaptic is attempting to download the file from. Could you please try
again now that there has been some time since you reported this bug?

If the issue still persists, you may want to try the following possible 
solution:
1. Go to System -> Administration -> Software Sources
2. Go to the "Download from:" drop-down menu and select "Other..."
3. Click on "Select Best Server" (which will cause your computer to try every 
available server to find which one offers the best speeds, so it could take a 
little while depending on your connection speed)
4. Attempt to install Winbind again

Please let us know whether or not you are able to download the package
using this method so we can figure out how to process this report.
