My Acer Aspire laptop 5315-2153 is connected to DSL through my AirLink 101 router. Under Ubuntu 9.04, the eth0 connection starts at boot-up and stays on for the full session.
Under 9.10, an ethernet icon appears randomly, and indicates "eth0 connected" and "eth0 disconnected" with the same icon.
