I found this bug at bugzilla which suggests that it was a problem with libpurple(it was a few months ago) so it would be really helpful if someone who uses gadugadu can test this under lucid(as lucid most probably have a later version of libpurple) https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=558018 this bug report directed to http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18233
