Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media
I have a headset with a mic plugged in to the rear port of my on-board sound (ADI AD2000B) on my Asus P5Q-E motherboard. I cannot talk to people on Skype, or record in the GNOME Sound Recorder program. This is despite me going into the GNOME ALSA Mixer and unmuting the mic and mic boost. I can hear myself and my keystrokes when I type from the mic being amplified into he ear-pieces. So the hardware of the mic is working. However, I cannot record sound. The GNOME ALSA Mixer appears to be using AD1989B drivers.
