Hello Max, maybe you already saw it, but the description of the commit you refer to reports "This is the MM equivalent of NM commit 9d7f5b3d084eee2ccfff721c4beca3e3f34bdc50", and NM commit http://cgit.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/commit/?id=9d7f5b3d084eee2ccfff721c4beca3e3f34bdc50 is indeed older (March 09).
