@marc.hanish: Yes, it does depend on the availability of weather stations. In particular, most weather web sites seem to refer to the Berlin-Tegel station for the weather in Potsdam. This is also the weather station that is used when "Berlin, Berlin, Germany" is selected as a location.
There seems to be a small station in Cottdam, but the Berlin airport station is still closer, and probably is much more accurate. I am closing this bug report because it seems to me that there is an acceptable solution. Please reopen it if you think there is still a problem, and don't hesitate to submit bug reports in the future.
