Public bug reported: At Samsung N130 Fn+Up/Down keyboard combinations that are marked as "change screen brightness up/down" does not trigger effect at all. I have BIOS version 05CM, use Ubuntu 9.10 x86 with KDE 4.3
Also I can say that this is different from bug #295251 that is about Samsung NC10 which does not generate "key released" events. I tried using xev and see that pressing Fn+Up/Down does not generate events at all. There is a howto in Arch setup instructions for Samsung N140 (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Samsung_N140#No_backlight_setting_via_ACPI) which is very close to N130 and they provide several solutions depending on which kernel version one uses. It'd be nice if similar fixes were incorporated into Ubuntu.
