i ve tried the latest kernel, this issue has been present since gutsy, then in hardy i had a patched kernel from some ppa which made suspend resume work partially but still froze. i think this laptop has at least 2 problems preventing it from suspending correctly because sometimes it suspends correctly(judging from how it worked before + blinking LED) and sometimes only the screen goes black.
