Finally, someone with the same problem! :)

Maybe some underlying device system in Ubuntu was changed so for USB
support, that line in the fstab is no longer needed (because mountall is
no longer the process for USB devices?), and it being there actually
causes problems.

Javier, could you please post a comment with the contents of /etc/fstab
attached?
