Bruno's problem sounds slightly different than mine. ALT+PrintScreen always works for me. And when a "window only" screenshot is taken using the "menu" method (as opposed to ALT+PrintScrn), if it works at all, it always gets the top left corner of the desktop, whether the screenshot tool's window is overlapping the current one or not (I just tried it both ways). (I don't have problems with fading because I don't have those nice effects turned on)
