Your system log is full of read errors from the CD, like this: Dec 15 02:00:45 mint kernel: [ 299.851150] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Unhandled sense code Dec 15 02:00:45 mint kernel: [ 299.851156] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE Dec 15 02:00:45 mint kernel: [ 299.851161] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Sense Key : Medium Error [current] Dec 15 02:00:45 mint kernel: [ 299.851167] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Add. Sense: Unrecovered read error
It all goes wrong very quickly from here, and realistically there's no way that the installer can recover since the installer itself is read from the CD! This is generally due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, rather than being an installer bug as such. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, or to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers). ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- Installer Crashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/496826 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
