Dear rfurgy, I think that we should use 'mono-runtime' instead of 'mono-2.0-devel' in file "debian/control". I have installed "mono-runtime", and I have not installed 'mono-2.0-devel'. GnomeArtNG works well on my Ubuntu Karmic :)
