Hmm, pretty disappointing numbers. Seems like wireless-n, although better than G is still a lot of hype.
On the Windows XP Home machine, I used iTunes to access the AAC file from the other Windows machine. I know it is not perhaps a fair comparison as iTunes may have some smarter buffering system compared to the players on my Linux box but given that the signal strength was low (two bars) and it still played without glitches it still points to the Linux setup having some issues somewhere. BTW I got my Karmic (9.10) installation up and running (on the same machine as what I had Jaunty on originally, I installed Karmic side by side so I select Jaunty or Karmic on boot up). I had lots of issues getting sound to work (when will Pulseaudio actually work out of the box??). I also had some issues getting my WUSB600N V2 to work but I have it working now. The bad news is that I still hear the audio glitches and Wireshark still reports the TCP Retransmissions every time the audio glitches. It may be my imagination but it seems that the glitches/retransmissions are occurring slightly less often compared to the Jaunty install. I read that Ralink are very active in the Linux community, so I wonder how is the average user supposed to let them know about these problems. -- Linksys By Cisco WUSB600N v2 Doesn't Work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408165 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
