Very odd. I see exactly the behaviour reported here. I have:

1. Installed xsensors
2. Run `xsensors-detect` and allowed it to update /etc/modules (it has added
it87 and k8temp modules)
3. Rebooted
4. (In case it made any difference) Ran `sensors -s`

It looks as if xsensors has broken relatively recently, there are quite
a lot of messages about this problem. Unfortunately I don't see any way
to reopen the bug.

Further investigation. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10, up to date with
patches.

The following modules were added (in order) by xsensors-detect: it87, k8temp
`lsmod` fails to detect it87, and running `modprobe it87` produces the message:

    FATAL: Error inserting it87
(/lib/modules/2.6.31-17-generic/kernel/drivers/hwmon/it87.ko): Device or
resource busy

Running `sensors` only reports two sensors, acpitz-virtual-0 and k8temp-
pci-00c3

Finally, running `xsensors` produces the error message
Sensor 'k8temp' not supported by xsensors!
and an empty window titled "xsensors 0.50".
