Many people in audio production need jack support to run jack aware audio apps. Pulseaudio isn't a good solution with jack Tired of repackaging libasound2-plugins every time i update my system. Can' t repackage ia32-libs just to include jack (32 bits) plugin support to run 32 bits apps on my 64 bits system. So i just compile and copy it in /usr/lib32/alsa-lib (it works great but but it is just a workaround).
