I have the same problem with a Thinkpad T61. I was not having this issue
with 9.04. It was reproducible 100% of the time under the following
sequence:  I'd have the laptop on AC power, put it to sleep, unplug the
power, then wake up the laptop--it would then go back to sleep in a few
seconds. If I put it to sleep while on battery power, it would wake up
just fine.

I was using the x86_64 version of 9.10.

I've since replaced 9.10 with Fedora 12, and the same issue persists.
