Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

When turning the balance fully to one side (either left or right), the
remaining channel gets distorted. However the distortion only kicks in,
when reaching full level of imbalance. With only 2% of the silent
channel left, no distortion is to be heard and everything sound normal.
Could this be *shrug* a division by zero problem?
