Binary package hint: gpar2
Issue: Poor user feedback reporting empty rar files.
I downloaded a large rar set (49 parts) and files 2 through 9 came in
empty for some reason. The app did not report this very well. It
showed all the complete sets but failed to show the empty files. (i.e.
0 of 4 chunks, or "empty par file" on a red line)
Had I been on the command line I would have caught it quickly, from
nautilus, not showing file sizes, I was puzzled for a while.
I located and fixed the problem after about 5 minutes of dicking around
and checking my source. I'm a Linux developer, an uninformed user might
very well have given up.
Error feedback on empty par files would make gpar2 more user friendly.
Using Ubuntu 9.10, gpar2 v0.3
