That wouldn't be an "upgrade" since it's not in the Ubuntu repository.

If I want to complain about *your* version, then I'll do so on *your*
package, thank you very much.  It was *you* that changed your license to 
CDDL, and that's what I consider a fork just as much as cdrkit.

Until you want contribute your fixes as GPL (the basis for Debian),
please quit trolling on other packages bug reports.
